A review of exhibitions in Delhi by two young painters, Suhas Nimbalkar and Jai Zharotia. In Zharotia’s black-and-white drawings a few forms recur, mountains, trees, birds, human figures, vehicles and city objects, which at first look detached and indifferent to one another.
सब अपने में अलग हैं – एक दूसरे से अजनबी हैं, लेकिन दरअसल, एक दूसरे में कितने अधिक व्याप्त हैं।
The burning sun, a bird on a rock, a tired figure lying down, a plant in a pitcher: each stands apart, strangers to one another, and yet how deeply they pervade each other.
