English

Slowly, like dry leaves,
the meanings of words keep falling; words have become meaningless.
A crowd without words wanders here and there.
The crowd is huge; the words have vanished.
People are trying to explain with gestures.
There are queues at the temples;
perhaps new words will be handed out there.
The rich have bought up meaningless words
and decorated their homes with them.
In the schools a net of words is being woven;
the people caught in the net are waiting for the rats.
The rats sing as they nibble the dictionaries;
perhaps meaningless words
taste better.
