Press release
Text for Zharotia’s exhibition Myths and Mysteries. It describes a pictorial world of fantasy that flows through watercolour, acrylic, tempera, oil, etching and ceramics: humanised birds, horses, bulls and goats, puppet-like figures, stretched horses and clowns, drawn from his knowledge of Indian mythology and epics.
Because he is also a poet, the text says, his images carry a lyrical quality, and his search for the self appears in many forms, sometimes as a bull, a tree or a woman.
Reality is illusion and illusion is reality.
